YOUR ROLE

As a Key Account Manager, you will drive profitability gains across the Hospitality markets by showcasing the advantages of Bunzl’s supply services to significant corporate accounts. Your responsibilities will include not only securing these accounts but also ensuring their successful integration into the State business and seamless transition to other sales team members for ongoing management. Additionally, you will manage key national corporate customers, fostering growth through specialization and superior service offerings.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading new business development within both existing and new customer bases.
  • Achieving successful account gains and retention over agreed periods.
  • Earning premiums on new business within PBIT requirements.
  • Making strategic decisions to walk away from non-profitable or purely price-driven customers.
  • Managing and improving margin gains in line with budgetary and strategic goals.

 

ABOUT YOU

The ideal candidate will possess tertiary qualifications and demonstrate a proven ability to sell differentiated services at a premium within a B2B environment, particularly in the Hospitality market. Your track record should reflect not only sales success but also excellence in customer service and the ability to lead and inspire support for this excellence within the organization. Your experience will enable you to utilize resources effectively in a low-margin business and foster repeat sales. You should also have:

  • Solid experience in strategic selling and planning across major national customers.
  • Experience in margin development and the ability to work with innovative and specialized service or product offers.
  • Strong understanding of business costs and their impact on customer and business profitability.
  • Self-driven, with a knack for building face-to-face relationships and a resilient determination to challenge the status quo.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, coupled with computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft programs and ideally an ERP system.
