YOUR ROLE
As an Assistant Accountant at Obex MedTech, you will assist the Finance Manager in producing financial and accounting information, reporting and monitoring, and adhering to stated policies and procedures in a timely manner to ensure business objectives and outcomes are achieved, and deadlines are met.
Key responsibilities:
- Monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and reporting ensuring completeness and accuracy
- Prepare general ledger journals as required
- Maintain and reconcile the Fixed Asset Register including monthly depreciation and assist with third party capital asset verification
- Assist in completing and lodging quarterly BAS return, FBT data collation and preparation of annual return, to ensure the preparation of the monthly financial accounts including the P/L, B/S and working capital reports are completed on time and with analysis

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting desired as well as Relevant Tertiary Accounting degree & CA/CPA or working towards
- Sound and comprehensive accounting skills with eagerness to learn new skills
- General exposure to computerised accounting systems
- Intermediate level of working understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel and Word
