YOUR ROLE

In this critical support role within our finance team, you'll assist with the comprehensive accounting functions encompassing day-to-day operations as well as crucial period-end reporting tasks. Your responsibilities will include conducting bank reconciliations, maintaining and reconciling the fixed asset register, and ensuring the accuracy of balance sheet reconciliations. You'll play a vital part in preparing for month-end, half year-end, and year-end reporting, assisting with GST reconciliations and BAS returns, and contributing to the completion of the annual Fringe Benefit Tax return. Beyond these core duties, you'll engage in financial analysis, support internal audits, and provide backup for other accounting staff, ensuring the smooth running of our finance operations.

  • Conduct bank reconciliation including foreign currency bank accounts.
  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and the follow up.
  • Maintain fixed asset register, perform EOM procedures and movement reconciliation.
  • Prepare EOM journals and assist with EOM reporting.
  • Assist with period-end reporting and GST/BAS reconciliations, and rebate claims.
  • Support financial analysis and participate in branch internal audits.

 

ABOUT YOU

We're seeking a candidate with tertiary qualification in accounting, who is ideally on the path to completing their CPA/CA certification. With 1-2 years of experience in an accounting role, you should demonstrate a solid foundation in financial accounting, have a good understanding of basic accounting practices, and be familiar with ERP systems in a commercial setting. Your strengths will include excellent interpersonal and communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and strong numerical and analytical capabilities. You're known for your exceptional time management, able to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Your approach to work is characterised by a meticulous attention to detail, self-motivation, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Your initiative, problem-solving skills, and commitment to ethics and diversity make you an ideal candidate for this role.

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, preferably working towards CPA/CA.
  • 1-2 years’ accounting experience with strong financial accounting skills.
  • Excellent communication, analytical skills, and proficient in Microsoft Office.
