YOUR ROLE
Bunzl Australasia is a large and diverse corporate group based in Mulgrave, Victoria. Due to recent growth and expansion we are seeking an APAC Senior Tax Accountant to join our regional head office and play a key role in supporting and enhancing the Group tax function. As a Significant Global Entity with a UK listed parent, the work you will do for Bunzl will be varied, interesting, and career enhancing as you develop your skills in various areas of taxation and across multiple jurisdictions.
The APAC Senior Tax Accountant is responsible for supporting the Group tax function to manage and review complex tax filings covering a range of taxes including income tax, GST, FBT, withholding tax and payroll tax, ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations, mitigate tax risks and support strategic tax planning initiatives across the Asia Pacific Region.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparation of annual income tax returns and supporting schedules across a range of companies in the Asia Pacific Group (both consolidated and standalone)
- Tax effect accounting calculations for budget and year end, including working with auditors to finalise the year end process within deadlines
- Prepare monthly PAYG income tax instalment calculations and facilitate payments for various entities in the APAC group
- Prepare monthly and annual Payroll Tax reports and facilitate payments for various employer entities in the APAC group
- FBT and GST advisory and governance for APAC group
ABOUT YOU
A successful candidate for the APAC Senior Tax Accountant role will bring a strong technical background in corporate taxation and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity. You will be curious, have well developed research and analytical skills, a strong attention to detail, good time management skills and a desire to learn.
Other requirements are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- CA or CPA qualified and/or Master of Taxation
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in corporate tax compliance roles ideally in a complex, multinational environment or Big 4 or Mid-Tier accounting firm,
- Strong knowledge of Australian federal and state tax laws and compliance requirements.
