YOUR ROLE
We are seeking an experienced data engineer with hands on experience of designing, building, operationalising, securing, and monitoring data pipelines and data stores.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years’ experience in master data management, analytics and have worked in an Azure environment. Activities may include — but are not limited to:
- Identifying data sources, data processing concepts and methods
- Evaluating, designing, and implementing on-premises, cloud-based and hybrid data engineering solutions
- Structuring and storing data for uses including — but not limited to — analytics, machine learning, data mining, sharing with applications and organisations.
- Harvesting structured and unstructured data
- Integrating, consolidating, and cleansing data
- Migrating and converting data
- Applying ethical principles in handling data
- Ensuring appropriate storage of data in line with relevant legislation
- Building in security, compliance, scalability, efficiency, reliability, fidelity, flexibility, and portability.
ABOUT YOU
Education/Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in data engineering, data science, or a related field is a minimum requirement.
Experience & Skills:
Must have:
- Proven experience translating business logic into system workflows.
- Strong proficiency in data architecture, including dimensional modelling and relational database management.
- Hands-on expertise with ETL tools such as Developer ETL, Azure Synapse, and Data Bricks.
- A solid understanding of financial concepts and the ability to simplify complex calculations.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in supply chain or manufacturing sectors, familiarity with ERP systems, and knowledge of domain-oriented data architecture.
- Exposure to CI/CD practices, finance-related data, Power BI administration, and machine learning concepts.
Personal Characteristics & Behavioural Traits:
- Demonstrated customer-centric approach and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Effective project management abilities with acute attention to detail.
- Strong team player with proficiency in collaborative environments.
