YOUR ROLE
The purpose of this role is to ensure that inventory stock levels are maintained to satisfy customers’ demand and quality, whilst maintaining an inventory level that is within corporate investment and turnover parameters.
Part of your day-to-day will involve:
- Maintain stock holdings at a level that is adequate to meet customers’ regular demands and known future variations
- Analysis of spend and subsequent recommendations
- Order in quantities consistent with obtaining a price, that provides optimum return on investment Maintain system controls in regard to pricing
- Monitor slow moving and obsolete stock holdings and take corrective action to minimise loss due to stock write-down, and prevent recurrence
- Meet or exceed agreed targets for stock turnover to optimise the investments in inventory holding
- Assist with the preparation, running and finalisation of the branch stocktakes
- Follow up with suppliers and imports team to ensure deliveries will meet service requirements and communicate via daily reporting and emails to key stakeholders
